Our story

 Founded in 1993 by owners Rick Sheriff and Jeff Matthews,  Acorn Capital has remained privately-held, steadfastly independent, and unfettered by investors or outside shareholders for nearly 30 years. With our sole office in Beverly Hills, we are perhaps the top-producing boutique brokerage in the world.

Although we are but one office, we are far from alone. Acorn Capital is proud to be a founding affiliate, and exclusive Los Angeles member, of Forbes Global Properties, a Forbes company. We also maintain an exclusive relationship with Luxury Portfolio International, the elite branch of Leading RE, who total $372 billion in annual global sales. This expansive international network combined with our local expertise allows Acorn Capital a unique position as a powerhouse firm with a presence in all major cities of the world.

Rick Sheriff, Chairman

Rick Sheriff fis the Chairman of Acorn Capital. Co-founded by Hilton in 1993, the Beverly Hills-based luxury residential brokerage firm specializes in select properties throughout Southern California, and is an exclusive affiliate of Luxury Portfolio. A member of the Acorn Hotel family, Sheriff has been a groundbreaker in luxury real estate for over three decades

Jeff Matthews, President

Jeff Matthews is a real estate expert, architectural historian and the co-founder and President of Acorn Capital. He has personally handled several billion dollars in real estate sales.

Matthews formed an appreciation for homes and design at an early age. Growing up in the charming Little Holmby enclave between UCLA and Beverly Hills, he became fascinated with the great estates so emblematic of Hollywood’s golden age.
